Off The Top Disclaimer

Thank You for choosing us! While the window tinting process seems pretty straight forward, there are a few things to consider. Things like DUST, DOT MATRIX, DEFROSTERS, and NC LAWS. We will outline those things to make sure our customers have the best understanding before and after the tinting process.

DUST

While we use the best films and materials on the market, dust is everywhere and is impossible to avoid, especially in the mobile setting. Although not often, there are times that tiny dust particles will make their way into the film. However, we do everything to possible to prevent this from happening. If any dust particle makes its way onto the film, typically is caught before the completion of the tint process.

DOT MATRIX

Dot Matrix is the tiny black dots usually present around the rear windshield but can also be present around other windows. It is installed at the factory and is a cosmetic boarder around the windows. When tint is laid over the dots they can sometimes appear as silver in color. Until the tint fully dries these may be visible but will not affect the tint in any way. OTT does everything possible to make sure it is dried prior to turning over to the customer. Warranty work will not be done due to dot matrix issues unless it is affecting the tint or causing the tint to peel. Usually the any silver color around the dot matrix will vanish over time as the rest of the tint dries out.

DEFROSTERS

More specifically the defroster lines present on the rear windshield. These are susceptible to getting damaged during the tint process, although we do everything we can to prevent this. If you are having tint redone and old tint needs to be peeled off, you will be more likely to have damage to the defroster lines. OTT is not responsible for damage to the defroster lines.

NORTH CAROLINA LAWS

North Carolina Law in window tinting states that windows should not be tinted with film lower than 32%, and no windshield tint lower than 5 inches from the top of the windshield or below the AS1 line. This law is for all On road vehicles. By tinting your windshield or choosing a tint darker than 32%, you agree to take full responsibility and agree that it is either for show or for off-road use. OTT holds no responsibility for any tickets or citations received as a result of window tinting.

Person Property/ Items

Off The Top and employees or representatives of Off The Top are not responsible for any personal property or items left inside the vehicle during tinting process. Customer should make sure there are no valuable items or property inside the vehicle that is not locked up while in OTT tinting bay or while in our possession.

HARMONIC DISTORTION

Harmonic Distortion is the anomaly that is present when the customer is wearing certain types of glasses such as polarized sunglasses and some prescription glasses. This is a result of the temper process on the glass itself and is NOT the responsibility of OTT or its partner companies.

ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS

Most modern vehicles are full of electrical components. During the tinting process, slip solution and water are used which could have a potential effect on those components. OTT does everything possible to prevent this by using microfiber towels and plastic covers. In the event that an electrical component is damaged, OTT holds no responsibility.

PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE

Off The Top Customs reserves the right to use photos and videos before, during, and after the tinting process so long as no personal or identifying information (such as tag numbers or registration cards) are visible in them. Photos and/or videos may be used as advertisement, entertainment purposes, or for educational purposes. OTT techs wear a personal body camera during the tinting process for our protection and yours. No photos or videos will be used in a negative manner or to portray you as the order in a negative manner.

Customers of Off The Top Customs will be advised of all of these. In addition to the above listed, and by signing an OTT waiver form, the customer acknowledges and agrees that a mechanics lien could be the result of non payment for services provided by Off The Top Customs. This means in the event a customer does not pay for services provided, their vehicle will be held by OTT until resolved.
